1. I have not come up with an idea for my passion project just yet.

2. I was thinking of doing one of my wonders or problem solved maybe like language existence in the future or cure for cancer.

3. I still don't understand how we chose an idea. Is the idea like a question or do we just pick an idea from our mind maps and write about it? What do we do next with the idea? I'm still very confused about the project.

  1. I think the idea of focusing on something you wonder about or would like to solve is excellent, Sheila. The main idea behind the passion project is that it's your project! Your idea! A number of students find it challenging at first, as so many assignments in high school are teacher directed, with specific rules and requirements. This project is really wide open. To give you some ideas, you might consider interviewing a language teacher about the evolution of language and ask that person to speculate on how languages might change, say, 200 years from now. Or you could learn about some specific form of cancer research and share what you discover via a blog or some form of social media. Or maybe you could spend a day volunteering at a research lab, or shadowing a research scientist. Lots of options here!
